Day 1 : Cochin Arrival at Kerala
You will be met and assisted at the airport or station on arrival in Cochin, Kerala, India, by our company's representatives. They will help you transfer to your hotel and check in. You can relax for a while then enjoy a city tour of Cochin. A few interesting sites included on the tour are the Chinese fishing nets along the Vasco Da Gama Square, Santa Cruz Basilica, St. Francis Church, VOC Gate, Bastion Bungalow etc. Apart from these architectural splendors, an array of restaurants serving fresh seafood is also popular among tourists.
Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 2 : Cochin - Thekkady
After breakfast we travel from Cochin to Thekkady, in Kerala, India, by road.
The distance of approximately 150 km is covered in around 4 hours. Drive through tea estates, spice gardens and wild forests. Arrive at Thekkady after a memorable drive and check in at the hotel. Stay overnight at Thekkady.
Day 3 : Thekkady
Early breakfast and reporting at the boat landing on Lake Periyar to cross over to the starting point of the trek. After about two hours of hard walk, you hop on to a country raft (its just bamboo poles bound together) paddled by tribal boatmen. Lunch would be packed and served in the jungle while a lavish dinner would be served at the hotel.
Overnight would be at the resort.
Day 4 : Thekkady - Kumarakom
After breakfast we travel from Thekkady to Kumarakom, in Kerala, India, by road. The distance of approximately 175 km is covered in around 5 hours. Arrive at Kumarakom, enjoying the beauty of the traditional Kerala houses. An enchanting backwater destination, Kumarakom offers visitors many other leisure options. An unbelievably beautiful paradise of mangrove forests, emerald green paddy fields and coconut groves interspersed with enchanting waterways and canals adorned with while lilies - this is Kumarakom. Check in at the hotel. Stay overnight at Kumarakom.
Day 5 : Kumarakom - Alleppey Houseboat Cruise
Morning go for a Bird Sanctuary Visit. Later, check into a traditional Kerala Style houseboat and go on a leisurely backwater cruise along the lake. Stay overnight on the houseboat.
Day 6 : Alleppey - Cochin
Arrive in Alleppey. After breakfast we travel from Alleppey to Cochin, in Kerala, India, by road.
The distance of approximately 60 km is covered in around 1 hour. Transfer at leisure to Cochin for the flight/train to the next destination, at the end of your Kerala Holiday Tour Package.
