Introduction
The Sariska Wildlife Sanctuary in Rajasthan is a park with dry and deciduous forests. Located in the Aravalli mountainous region, there are cliffs and narrow valleys in the park. Nearby is a 17th century castle on a hilltop at Kankwari.

There is a large population of Rhesus Monkeys in the park. Birds too, are in plenty with large numbers of Peafowl, Grey Partridge, Bush Quail, Sand Grouse, Tree Pie, Golden-backed Wood Pecker, Crested Serpent Eagle and the Great Indian Horned Owl.
Among the other attractions nearby are the Kankwari Fort, old Shiva Temples, Sita Ram temple, Vijay Mandir Palace, Jaismand Lake and the Sariska Palace, which has now been turned into a heritage hotel.
