Day 1: Arrive Chennai

You will be met and assisted at the airport or station on arrival in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, by our company's representatives. They will help you transfer to your hotel and check in. You can relax for the day and stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 2: Chennai - Tirupati

After breakfast we travel from Chennai to Tirupati, in Andhra Pradesh, India, by road.
The distance of approximately 140 km, is covered in around 3 hours. On arrival, in this temple and pilgrim town, check in at the hotel. In the afternoon proceed for a darshan (viewing) of Lord Balaji. Return to the hotel and stay overnight at Tirupati.

Day 3 : Tirupati - Chennai

After breakfast we travel from Tirupati to Chennai, by road. The distance of approximately 140 km, is covered in around 3 hours. Check in at the hotel in Chennai and relax. In the evening, enjoy sightseeing in Chennai, see Marina Beach and famous buildings and memorials in Chennai. Stay overnight in Chennai.

Day 4 : Chennai - Mahabalipuram

After breakfast we travel from Chennai to Mahabalipuram, in Tamil Nadu, India, by road. The distance of approximately 58 km, is covered in around 1 hour. On arrival, in this seaside town, check in at the hotel. In the afternoon proceed for a sightseeing tour of Mahabalipuram. Return to the hotel and stay overnight at Mahabalipuram.

Day 5 : Mahabalipuram

After breakfast, proceed for a day's sight seeing tour of Mahabalipuram. See the rock cut temples shaped like pagodas, cave sanctuaries, famous sculptures and the Shore Temple. Stay overnight at the hotel in Mahabalipuram.

Day 6 : Mahabalipuram - Tanjore

After breakfast we travel from Mahabalipuram to Tanjore- the Rice Bowl of India, (Tanjavur) in Tamil Nadu, India, by road. The distance of 309 km, is covered in around 7 hours. Check into the hotel in Tanjore and relax. Visit the centuries old temples that were seats of great learning. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 7 : Tanjore - Trichy - Tanjore

After breakfast enjoy a full day excursion to Trichy (Tiruchirapalli)
Visit the majestic Rock Fort Temple, dedicated to Shiva and reached by climbing up 437 steps to reach the summit of a rocky hillock.

Day 8 : Tanjore

After breakfast see the Brihadeeshwara Temple built by the Cholas in the 10th century A.D., dedicated to Lord Shiva, and the giant Nandi statue on a tour of Tanjore. Relax in the evening. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 9 : Tanjore - Madurai

By road covering 183 km in approx. 4 hr After breakfast we travel from Tanjore to Madurai, in Tamil Nadu, India, by road.
The distance of 183 km, is covered in around 4 hours. Enroute visit Karaikudi (Chettinad), famous for its Ganesha Temple, Saris, Spicy Cuisine and Grand Mansions. Check into the hotel in Madurai and relax. Stay overnight in Madurai.

Day 10 : Madurai

After breakfast visit the Meenakshi Temple in Madurai. Dedicated to the consort of Lord Shiva, it is known for its towering Gopurams. Watch the evening Aarti at the Meenakshi Temple. The ceremony is the highlight of the South Indian Temple Tour. Return to the hotel and stay overnight.

Day 11 : Rameshwaram Excursion

After breakfast set out on a full day's excursion to Rameshwaram. See the majestic Ramanathaswamy Temple set on an island in the Gulf of Mannar. Built in the 17th century, this temple is known for its corridors with 1200 granite pillars.
Return to Madurai to stay overnight.

Day 12 : Madurai - Trivandrum

After breakfast we travel from Madurai to Trivandrum, in Kerala, India, by road.
The distance of 264 km, is covered in around 6 hours. Arrive in Trivandrum and check in at the hotel where you will stay overnight.

Day 13 : Trivandrum

After breakfast, start a tour of Trivandrum (Thiruvananthapuram) visiting the Sree Padmanabha Swami Temple, Napier Museum, Chitralayam Arts Gallery, Zoological gardens, Reptile house, Observatory and Kanakakunnu Palace. Stay overnight at Trivandrum.

Day 14 : Departure From Trivandrum

After breakfast, travel to the airport or station to begin the journey to your next destination, at the end of your South India Temples Tour Package for India.
